The Print Catalog Dilemma Apparel industry sales people have long
used high-quality, high-cost catalogs to showcase their product to retailers.
While seasonal catalogs allow retailers to envision the product line as
it would appear in their retail space, the limitations for the sales person
are numerous. Print production requires significant lead-time and once
printed, the latest information on design or product availability is not
included. An apparel catalog will show a complete line, while most sales
people would prefer to show a customized product selection dependent on
the trade channel and the preferences of the account. Once a season ends,
these high-cost catalogs are of little to no value and are often thrown
out. oswego.group created the Product Presenter Pro to solve this problem.

Ritz opened the Ritz in Paris. His goal was to create a hotel with all of
the trappings of a royal residence and by all accounts, he succeeded. Along
with setting the standard for luxury hotels, the Ritz spawned an adjective
best defined by itself. With its watercolor image of the hotel's red-carpeted
front entrance and adorning bellboy, Ritz's home page is inviting and unmistakably
French. It's functional as well, allowing visitors to choose between site
versions written in French, English, or Japanese. After overcoming the language
barrier, one steps inside to a secondary home page with a logical, no-nonsense,
and informative layout that resembles an efficient hotel lobby. In addition
to de rigueur information about the establishment's history, visitors can
check out the restaurants, nightclubs, boutiques, spa, or go directly to
the guestrooms and suites. The exquisite furniture, fine bedding, and sumptuous

2004 01 First a RESolution: getting these articles finished before the deadline
has long since passed. More than thirty club members showed up either to
ride and eat, or just eat. I'm pretty sure that's a record turnout for this
event, and the weather cooperated too. By now you are thinking about how
to work off those extra holiday pounds. This year we're going back to one
booth, and we'll just be schmoozing with the public. We're offering an early-bird
discount on registration though March 1 which is also the deadline for ordering
your rally jerseys. The series has been successful with the current format
and will be run similar to previous years. All the ride details are listed
in this file/ document and each ride will be listed in the Cascade newsletter.
We are very soon coming up with a website where people can go online and
fill in the question-naire.

a database so consumers can purchase new items more easily. Technologies
will continue to evolve, allowing online retailers to display their merchandise
in more realistic and engaging ways and provide personalized customer service.
Others have expressed concern that if they go online they will cannibalize
the sales of their physical stores. Self scanning is an example of the technology
that is enabling retail stores to compete with the online channel. The primary
goal of this research was to provide retailers with a road map to help guide
their decisions concerning the adoption and implementation of new online
and in-store technologies. Consumers are increasingly willing to shop online,
with 12 percent having done so over the previous three months. Seventy-four

Videos to Simulations: New Technologies in Training Introduction Historically, video-based software training tools have
often been used in training where interaction with other people comprises
a large part of the subject matter. Examples of such subject matter include
emergency response, customs inspection, facility security, and the like.
We are currently engaged in a project in which we are converting an existing
video-based software trainer to a game engine-derived, simulation-based
training tool. This paper describes our analysis of the development challenges
of this conversion and our experience to date. Goals and Challenges The
goals of this project are: Reduce the long-term cost of training materials
development. Much of the investment in creating a simulation-based training
tool--environmental artwork, character artwork, dialogue recording, animation
sequencing, and so on--can be effectively reused, whether to update existing
products (based on changing training requirements) or to create new extensions

The purpose of this guide is to provide as much "up front" information
as possible to help advisors and students prepare for the 2005 Nevada SkillsUSA
Championships in Las Vegas on April 13-15. Please take a few moments to
read through this information, which will hopefully answer many questions
and serve as a resource to help prepare for the conference. Additional information
will be communicated to designated Lead Advisors and/or via the Nevada Association
Web site (www.nvskillsusa.org). Conference Schedule: The overall conference
agenda is shown below. Check the web site for updated changes. At least
one advisor per chapter must attend the advisor's breakfast meeting at 7:00
a.m. on Wednesday. All new advisors are strongly encouraged to attend the
meeting. You must order online at skillsusa.org/store/singles.html and download

- Use compute power on an hourly basis -Leverage economies of scale
by mapping your workload to a network of utility providers - Share system
and operational costs with others Compute resources--they must be available
and accessible whenever you need them, 24x7. Many organizations are faced
with resource utilization issues--they need vast amounts of compute power,
but only at certain times. The rest of the time, resources are underutilized.
Compounding this problem is the increased dependence on computationally
intensive processing, which is now filling every square inch of data
centers--imposing a substantial real estate/energy expense burden. This
is true in many industries, including financial services and energy,
where large batch jobs, such as risk/portfolio analysis and seismic processing,
are run periodically. Yet, organizations must continually invest in additional
computing resources to meet the demand for increasing, and sometimes unpredictable,
utilization spikes.

Any strategic plan is just that - a plan. To be used to the best
advantage, it must be flexible, growing out of an ongoing process of discussion
and negotiation, and informed by changes in both the internal and external
environments. This statement of Pratt Institute's hopes reflects an understanding
of past achievements, current practices, and priorities for improvement.
Unless otherwise stated in the plan, it may be presumed that these objectives
are designed to be undertaken within the five-year framework of the plan.
As these goals and objectives are achieved, others will take their places.
Each division of the Institute will prepare its own detailed strategic plan
to guide it in making its contributions to the institutional whole. Initiatives
for some of these goals are in development, but for clarity of discussion
of the issues at the levels of goals and objectives, most have been omitted
from this draft. C. Objective: Develop a plan for enhanced faculty development
