proxy auction---An auction in which bids are submitted by proxy.

Silent auction items will be showcased daily at the silent auction location for open bidding to all SCI members.

A central new idea in all these algorithms is to combine regular auction, where persons bid for objects by raising their prices, with reverse auction, where objects compete for persons by essentially ofering discounts.

In these auctions, the economic value shares tended to be generally larger for minority and women applicants than in other auctions.

The reverse auction process is more than electronic bidding and should not be confused with the electronic submission of bids.

The decorations committee designed the center table pieces on movie themes, including this one inspired by the movie Field of Dreams.

The auction: An independent "auction manager" announces a starting price and then electricity suppliers bid how much power they can provide at that price.

In the traditional path auction model, each agent only owns one edge in the graph, and there is no co-operation between agents.

We will make everything easy and clear to you throughout the auction.

After a short visit with Doug, they decided an auction was right for them.

Bidders input their values into "proxy agents" Proxy agents iteratively submit package bids, selecting best profit opportunity according to the inputted values

The silent auction begins at 6pm and closes at 8pm; dancing continues until 9:30pm.http://www.virginia.edu/artmuseum/PressReleases/pr2006holidayartauction.pdf. This year’s theme, I Got Rhythm, invites guests to swing to the 1930s sounds, sip on a Bacardi O Sidecar, build one’s art collection, and support the Museum’s educational programs. The auction will also include something new: a Kids’ pARTy for children ages 5 to 15, hosted by the UVa Student Docents at the Virginia Arts of the Book Center, also in the IX building. This event, held annually on the first Saturday in December, has blossomed over the years to become one of the most-anticipated social and cultural events of the season. Through sponsorships and the silent art auction, the Holiday Art Auction has raised invaluable funds in support of the Museum’s family and youth educational programs, including Summer Arts, a unique summer arts academy that offers youth entering grades 4-12 the opportunity to work with professional artists and explore a wide variety of projects incorporating the visual and performing arts. Nearly half of all Summer Arts participants receive full, need-based scholarships, thanks to foundation, endowment, individual and auction support. Last year’s record-breaking auction generated over $25,000! Among the art featured this year are approximately 50 works in the General Auction, generously donated by nationally known artists and local rising stars. Starting bids range from $50 to $300. Jewelry and a few surprise items will also be available for silent bids. The event now draws both the sophisticated collector and the young enthusiast, with something for every eye and budget. May 22, 2007 - The Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA), working on behalf of its member company Symantec Corp.http://www.siia.net/press/releases/AuctionLitigationSettlementRelease-5-07.pdf., announced today that it has settled claims for infringement of Symantec’s copyrighted software in the case of Symantec, et al. v. Chan et al. in the Central District of California. The defendant will pay $205,000, as well as agree to other confidential terms, for sales of unauthorized software over eBay. The lawsuit was among the first filed under SIIA’s Auction Litigation Program, which is working to stop a major source of illegal software distribution. The program involves monitoring popular online auction sites, identifying individuals or groups selling pirated software, and suing on behalf of the association’s member companies. “The sale of pirated software through online auctions is a growing problem that hurts buyers, sellers and the auction sites themselves,” said Keith Kupferschmid, SVP of SIIA’s Software Anti-Piracy Division. “Consumers are getting duped, legitimate businesses are losing money and the credibility of eBay and other sites is under attack. With existing auction site tools doing little to curb the problem, SIIA has stepped up its efforts to aggressively pursue software pirates.” This case, like others in the SIIA Auction Litigation Program, demonstrates both the ease of circumventing eBay’s current fraud prevention protocols and the many traps for unwary consumers buying online. “Through our Auction Litigation Program, we are working to identify and pursue these individuals and their sources distributing all varieties of pirated software – whether counterfeit copies
