Mustang Youth Basketball was established by Sandy Saxe to develop and support youth basketball in Kingwood.
The goal of the Spring clinics is to re-focus on basketball, before school lets out and summertime takes over.
Areas that will be emphasized each evening: individual offense (pivoting, protecting the ball, driving, shot fakes, vcuts, jump stops), ball handling, game passing, shooting (technique and game reps), layups (right/left, off the dribble/pass, breakaway), individual and team defense (man-to-man principles), and team offense (passing game, 4-on-4 competition).
The lead clinician will be John Herndon who has become very familiar to Kingwood basketball in the last few years.
Instructors will be selected by Coach Herndon to insure the highest of quality teaching.

The 17th annual WCC Men's Basketball Championship is upon us and eight teams have now refocused on obtaining the league tournament crown and the automatic bid to the big dance!!!
Under the new format, the #5 through #8 seeds will compete in the opening round to determine who will advance to the next round of the tournament.
Waiting for the winners in the quarterfinals will be the #3 and #4 seeds, who will have first round byes.
The 2002-03 regular season ended with Gonzaga earning its fifth conference title in the last six years and earning a bid directly into the tournament semifinals.

MFCC (Mel-frequency cepstral coefficient) features are used to identify the cheering sounds from speeches and other confusing sounds.

We use a very hard sound track captured form NBA.com website, which is raw sound track captured in the basketball court before any processing.
For example of the cheering event detection, we can measure the performance by counting the error windows.

According to the US Department of State more than 250 million people play a form of organized basketball in the world today.
Without the aid of another person to retrieve rebounds and pass the ball back to the shooter practice can be very discouraging.
The main components for this system will be a transmitting device, a receiver, microprocessor, a motor system and a chute system.
In Electronics they worked on a 2 week design project where they successfully completed a functional design project.
We expect the finished product to be affordable for the average person, durable enough to withstand the onslaught of basketballs, and reliable to accurately track a person around the basketball court with very small error in position.
