Each Sports Partnership Area has a full-time dedicated manager, funded by Sport England and other local sports agencies, to run the programme.

During the past six years as Head Coach of William Paterson University, we have been to four NCAA Tournaments, including two trips to the Final Four, won back-to-back Conference Championships in 2000 and 2001 and finished second in the country in 2001.

On November 1, 1946, the first basketball game of the Basketball Association of America (BAA), the forerunner of the National Basketball Association (NBA), was played between the New York Knickerbockers and the Toronto Huskies.
With the 50th anniversary of the NBA being celebrated, I thought it would be interesting to study the mortality of professional basketball players.
The Official NBA Encyclopedia of Basketball (Sachare 1994) contains information about professional basketball players who played in the NBA and/or the two leagues that merged with the NBA, that is, the American Basketball Association (ABA), which was merged with the NBA on June 17, 1976, and the National Basketball League (NBL), which was merged with the Basketball Association of America on August 3, 1949, and the merged league renamed, the National Basketball Association.
In both cases, in addition to the ratio of actual-to-expected deaths, a range of ratios above and below the reported ratio is shown whenever the number of deaths is five or more.
