We report a medial subtalar dislocation, which was treated with closed reduction and cast for 6 weeks.
A 25 year old male university student referred to our emergency service in November 1997 with a history of an injury to his right ankle while playing basketball.
On physical examination an inversion deformity of his right foot with massive swelling and a bony protrusion matching the talar head was covered by a skin abrasion was encountered.
Reduction was easily performed under general anesthesia with abduction-eversion manipulation of the foot with the longitudinal traction through the heel and with dorsiflexion of right ankle.

YPSILANTI, MI--Mark "Butch" Wade, who accepted the position as Director of Basketball Operations at Eastern Michigan University on June 7, 2002, has announced his resignation, effective immediately, EMU Head Basketball Coach Jim Boone announced today (July 19).
Wade expects to return to his position as an assistant basketball coach at Saginaw Valley State University and also as a school service worker at Wenona School in the Bay City Public School System.
"I am most appreciative and humbled by the incredible opportunity afforded to me by Coach Boone and Eastern Michigan University," Wade said.
