Bluetooth is a wireless protocol standard that was initially conceived by Ericsson, It is named after the Danish king Harald Blåtand (Bluetooth).

working towards advancing Bluetooth wireless technology

Ericsson proposed Bluetooth in 1994 as a replacement for cable connections between electronic products.

With Bluetooth promises to take your in-vehicle communication experience to the next level.

You have to install a Bluetooth adapter: please consider the following steps.

A Bluetooth profile is a specification for describing standard capabilities of a Bluetooth-enabled device.

With a Bluetooth mobile phone

Bluetooth technology is quickly finding its way into hearing aid applications.

InterWrite will work well with these third-party Bluetooth software

Bluetooth Controller which independently executes part of the protocol stack

to enable Bluetooth-based Ad-hoc networking

It can be a Bluetooth wireless keyboard or an ordinary USB keyboard

The receiver must achieve the -70 dBm sensitivity level with any Bluetooth transmitter

Jbed will accelerate JSR82 support in mobile phones and speed up the use of Bluetooth

The Receiver shows your position in real time on street-level

Combined with an external program memory and a Bluetooth radio transceiver

The objectives of this exercise are to: Analyze the effect of interference created by a Bluetooth piconet on the performance of 802.11b. Suggest some techniques to mitigate the interference of Bluetooth on 802.11b Part II - At-home lab assignment You are expected to perform the following tasks: Take the average of the three throughput readings for the ad-hoc link in the absence of any Bluetooth device and in the presence of Bluetooth interference for each data rate (1Mbps, 2Mbps and auto). On the same bar graph, plot: (a) the average throughput for the ad-hoc link established in the absence of any Bluetooth device for each data rate (1Mbps, 2Mbps and auto) and (b) the average of the measured throughput for the ad-hoc link established in the presence of a Bluetooth Piconet for the three different IEEE 802.11b data rates. Experiments with the Bluetooth Piconet set-up (a) What is the MAC address of the Bluetooth adapter used in the experiment? (b) What are the other application

Meet Bluetooth. They hope that this new Bluetooth will unite communications between the PC and cellular worlds. Other major information-technology companies working to bring Bluetooth to the world include IBM, Intel, Microsoft, Toshiba, Motorola, Lucent and 3Com. Bluetooth's goal is to provide high speed, low-cost wireless connections between any communications or computer device within a radius of 100 metres. Bluetooth operates at a very high radio frequency. Bluetooth's technical specifications run to more than 3,000 pages, not for reasons of natural scientific or engineering limitations--it is the only way that human electronics engineers can deal with the volume of criteria that must be met. Bluetooth devices were supposed to be available at the beginning of this year. Another factor delaying the introduction of Bluetooth is that products using it must meet a set standard. Testing to insure that new products truly meet this standard is now being done, and

An application-driven framework to enable secure ad-hoc group collaboration using Bluetooth scatternet. Our scatternet protocol is designed for scenarios like secure group meeting, where individuals can participate with their private piconets. During scatternet formation existing sessions and security associations are maintained. Our scatternet protocol creates loop free compact tree topology. We describe a prototype implementation and provide some initial experimental and simulation results. John decides to organize a secure meeting with his teammates. Everyone except Mary bring their BTH-enabled devices in the meeting. Frank comes with his laptop paired with his mobile phone. Hearing care professionals are experiencing a growing need for more efficient work rou-tines, higher patient through-put, and greater flexibility. They see the need to integrate test data with PC-based patient databases. And they want their patients to enjoy better service and greater convenience. Finally, thanks to Bluetooth wireless communication and an all-day battery, OTOflex is free to move where you do, linking seamlessly to our complete otodiagnostics software suite whenever you are near your PC (the OTO-diagnostics Suite is supplied as standard with OTOflex 100). Quite simply, Bluetooth is the world's leading wireless communication standard. Bluetooth uses radio waves, which does away with the limi-tations of infrared. Best of all, Bluetooth adapters have already become low cost stan-dard accessories for PCs and printers. Bluetooth is already featured in NOAHlink from HIMSA and complies with regulations and standards for medical devices. Otoflex100 complies

Battery operating time is a critical parameter for portable devices. It is a key factor that consumers weigh heavily in their purchasing decision. Reducing battery drain to improve operating time is a top priority for early Bluetoothdesigns. To assure meeting specified operating time, the manufacturing test engineer must select appropri-ate Bluetoothoperating states for making battery drain mea-surements while still meeting tight cost and throughput goals. In addition, the wide range of levels and the pulsed nature of the battery drain for Bluetoothdevices dictate using specialized test equipment for optimum test accuracy, throughput, and lowest cost in manufacturing. Bluetoothis a digital time-multiplexed transmission format. Figure 1 illustrates an actual current drain waveform mea-surement taken on a Bluetooth headset device operating in an active call state. Figure 2 illustrates the current drain of the example Bluetooth headset device in the standby/ scan state. For

The power consumption of the network interface plays a major role in determining the total operating lifetime of wireless handheld devices. On demand paging has been proposed earlier to reduce power consumption in cellular networks. In this scheme, a low power secondary radio is used to wake up the higher power radio, allowing the latter to sleep or remain off for longer periods of time. In this paper we present use of Bluetooth radios to serve as a paging channel for the 802.11 wireless LAN. It also sends a paging signal to the destination client via its low power Bluetooth radio to wake up (Step 2). It is in power saving state SS1 , the Bluetooth paging channel is switched on and the power management algorithms are also active. In this work we implemented a bluetooth based paging scheme to lower the power consumption of the 802.11b wireless interface and hence prolong the battery life of handheld devices using 802.11b cards. The bluetooth radio was used
