The results are based on a random sample of Compaq customers and may vary had all Compaq customers participated. Overall, the High Performance Solutions Web site was rated as providing the highest quality of information (mean = 3.74 on a 5-point scale) followed closely by the Compaq and Intel Web site (mean = 3.73 on a 5-point scale). The NonStop Himalaya Web site was rated the lowest among the Compaq Web sites in regards the quality of information it provides (mean = 3.57 on a 5-point scale). However, responding customers rated the quality of information provided by all Compaq Web sites either as "very valuable" or "average." No Compaq Web sites were rated as providing either "poor" or "very poor" information. Most of the respondents (70%) have been Compaq customers for more than 10 years. HP declares victory in Compaq merger Hewlett-Packard claimed victory on Tuesday in its hotly contested battle to merge with Compaq Computer. Compaq closed 2001 with net losses of 785 million dollars, although it held second place in the PC market, with an 11% share, behind Dell. "But the strategic challenges in the technology industry that have been raised by the HP/ Compaq merger are now more pressing than ever. Fiorina campaigned on the idea that HP needed Compaq to take on the likes of tech giant International Business Machines Corp. Up until now , there's been no precedent for a successful technology merger of the size of the HP and Compaq merger. Similarly, Compaq's acquisition four years ago of Digital Equipment Corporation and Tandom's cant be said to have been successful or even fully completed . We start development of our PC-based control-system with Compaq DeskPro 386-25 PCs and Compaq SystemPro 486- 33 file-server in 1992. The first accelerator controlled by PCs was PETRA in 1994 with Compaq DeskPro 486-66 PCs. The first Compaq PCs were very well tested and came with an excellent documentation. The reason to change from Compaq was the outfit of Compaq PCs.
