REC NETWORKS POSITION STATEMENT ON "COMMERCIAL" LOW POWER (LPFM & LPAM) BROADCASTINGBased on statements made by others in the low power broadcasting community, REC has carefully reexamined and reconsidered it's position on LPFM1 stations airing "commercials". REC remains opposed to a "commercial" LPFM service similar to the commercial full power FM broadcast service. With the auctions, regulatory fees and much higher music licensing fees associated with a full commercial service, we feel that this will make LPFM out of reach for the groups that are asking for "commercials" on LPFM. REC is open to a concept that would allow LPFM stations to air a very limited amount of "enhanced underwriting announcements" from local businesses and organizations within the LPFM's fringe coverage area. These "enhanced underwriting announcements" (EUA) could contain comparative claims, promotional material and "call to actions". What about a website like EBay? Unless your LPFM is in the Silicon Valley, you would not be able to run an EUA for EBay or many other websites. You see, the venture-backed startups are back, albeit in a smaller way. These startups call themselves niche o search engines, comparison-shopping engines, or next-generation search engines. I call them middlemen, the pre-qualifiers or arbitrageurs. Whatever moniker today's startups are using, they're a on specializing in a particular category to help consumers shop or help advertisers get better leads. They remind me of the 1999 online retailing craze when niche retailers like Pets.com, eToys, Webvan, Boo.com Eve.com put up virtual shingles and spent millions of venture capital dollars on advertising to drive traffic to the Today the VC-backed start-ups aren't niche online merchants. You can easily transfer this data to a more reliable storage medium such as a CD or a flash drive (also known as a disk key). In order to transfer the files to a flash drive simply insert the flash drive into an open USB port on your computer. Wait a few sec-onds for the computer to recog-nize the flash drive, then locate it by clicking on "my computer", and opening the "removable disk" drive. Open another window of "my computer" by double clicking on it again, but this time open your floppy drive. Auctions are a centuries-old example of market economics in perhaps its purest form - a weighing of supply and demand that finds the price that people will pay for any given item. But purchasing by competitive bidding is very much a buyer-beware business, experts warn - the vast majority of goods are used and must be carefully inspected before bidding. On top of that, buyers should have realistic expectations as the bargains of lore are often the exception, not the rule. ``You're not going to get a Porsche for $250,'' said Britney Sheehan, spokeswoman for EG&G Technical Services in Miami, which runs about 300 auctions a year of seized property for the U.S. Treasury Department. ``But you will get items at less than retail price.'' That's the big advantage to auctions. The danger, though, is that buyers can easily get caught up Brief - Role of the Primary Authenticator in an Identity N-Abstract As federated identity comes to play a more strategic and central role in the information architecture of corporate entities, identity networks will ensure quality and the management of risk in an identity interchange. The third-party nature of the identity network allows for a common framework, or perimeter, within which quality, risk and liability can be managed for all identity interchange transactions. However, the entity that first authenticates an identity (the "Primary Authenticator") into the network brings tremendous value which must be rewarded by the business models for identity federation. . This paper explores the role and importance of the primary authenticator within the constructs of federated identity interchange. This three factor authentication is then shared (via SSO) with eBay as the user clicks through to review his online bids from his personal portal - also hosted by his ISP. Launching Items Once you have defined inventory items, launching them to various sites as live listings can be done manually or through the use of auto-launch profiles. Launching items manually or automatically will decrement the "Quantity Available" and increment the "Quantity on Market" appropriately for the items, to help keep track of round-trip inventory. You should also take advantage of your Vendio Store as an economical venue for keeping items on perpetual display. A. Using Your Vendio Store as a Perpetual Sales Display If you have a Vendio Stores subscription, you can generate sales even BEFORE you launch your items to eBay.
