eBay bidding closes just hours prior to Delaware North Companies'
announcement on a permanent naming rights partner BOSTON, MA -- Delaware
North Companies - owner and operator of Boston's FleetCenter - announced
that final bidding has closed at 8:00am EST today on its single-day naming
rights auctions after reaching agreement with a permanent naming rights
partner. Single-day naming rights to the world-class sports and entertainment
venue were initially placed up for bid on online auction site eBay on February
10th with all net proceeds benefiting charities in the Greater Boston area.
In total, 26 days (February 16 through March 13) were placed up for bid
on eBay, generating a grand total of $150,633.22 not to mention another
$40,000 worth of My Grandma's Coffee Cakes donated to local food banks.
Winning bids, from as far away as San Jose, CA and Oklahoma City, OK, ranged
from $1,250 for a non-event date to a high of $35,099 by Golden Palace Casino
