The real importance is the effect of weather on what we do and how we deal with it. This article discusses some of the causes and effects of rapid drying of concrete slabs in hot-weather conditions and suggests preventative steps that are low cost and relatively easy to do. Rapid drying of the concrete occurs by absorption of concrete mixture water by a dry subgrade, dry aggregates, or, most importantly, evaporation of surface moisture on a warm, dry, and windy day. High drying conditions are the result of the weather (temperature, relative humidity, and wind speed) at the time of day during concrete placement. Interim_report_june2001 This project has been facilitated by a data-sharing collaboration with ESO, and a data and results sharing collaboration with U. Tokyo, the latter who are proposing to build a 6-m class IR-optimized telescope near Chajnantor. Document A Satellite Survey of Cloud Cover and Water Vapor in Northern Chile, plus a CD-ROM with the individual plots, were the deliverables. Many of these sites have had a small amount of weather data that would be valuable for an initial idea of local wind speeds and diurnal temperature variations. DoD Distribution Statement A - Approved for public release; distribution is unlimited. Due to maintenance concerns, and the coloring of the oil containers, it has become necessary for each site to ensure they have the correct oil on hand. In addition to inspecting the gearbox and transmitter oil on hand, this is to remind sites to perform the PMIs stated in NWS EHB 6-503-2, AF TO 31P1-4-108-6WC-8 and FAA TI 6345.1 V4; 168 day PMI, card number 2-032; and 336 day PMI, card number 2-042. This modification was successfully completed at Radar Operations Center. A sample EMRS report is provided as ATTACHMENT 3. The Alliance+ Project1 is a U.S. Department of Education program that enables K-12 teachers to integrate the Internet into their standards-based curriculum with emphasis on Science and Math. Nadaburg pre-K-8 students come into the computer lab on a rotating schedule. I have been assisted by, Patty Finch, Paul Dewey, and Bob Campbell, the Alliance+ team from Think Tank at Maricopa Community College during the integration of technology into our school. The enthusiasm has continued with the teachers and staff since they participated in our workshop. Winter maintenance on Idaho highways has always been a big challenge for Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) winter maintenance crews. The motorists and the snowplow operators face everything from frost and black ice on the roads to severe winter storms that can drop a couple of feet of snow over night. Anti-icing is a proactive approach to keeping highways clear of snow and ice by applying liquid freeze-point depressant chemicals to the highway ahead of the storm. Due to the high number of accidents and the high labor and materials costs to maintain US-12 in the winter, the District 2 Maintenance Engineer, Pat Lightfield, decided to try using liquid chemicals for anti-icing. castillo http://www.campbellsci.ca/CampbellScientific/Download/castillo.pdf cracks, sensors, soil moisture, tilt, park, equipment, monitoring, bastion, monument, weather stations. The project was also intended to help develop the web sites for both projected stations, and to rebuild a program with software that would help to network the stations after January 1, 2000. This is important because Refugio County was selected as a test site for identifying and improving best management practices BMPs to improve the profitability of sorghum and cotton grown in rotation. What the Project Has Accomplished to Date: Not two, but three weather stations were produced by using matching funds and equipment left over from another project. msg-cal Intrallect, forecasters, e-learning, satellites, weather, delivery, courses, trainer, training modules, delivery channels. HOW do you train thousands of weather forecasters in the latest techniques across Europe and Africa without taking them away from their operational duties? This was a dilemma facing EUMETSAT, the official European body for the operation and exploitation of meteorological satellites. The second generation of weather satellites -- Meteosat Second Generation -- is due to be launched at the end of August 2002. Thousands of weather forecasters and other experts across Europe and Africa who rely on information from weather satellites need to be trained how to interpret this new data. Edinburgh-based Intrallect specializes in sophisticated e-Learning software which allows training packages to be delivered across a number of digital delivery channels. good_weather_briefing weather, flight, briefing, forecasts, flight watch, VFR, aircraft, airport, route, briefer.
