Kennebunkport, Maine - Carl Akey and his wife Denise travel 580 miles to stay at the Captain Lord Mansion in Kennebunkport.
The Akey's, from Huntington Woods, Michigan, are coming to Kennebunkport again in June, this time as guests of innkeepers Bev Davis and Rick Litchfield to celebrate the Inn's 25th anniversary.
The Captain Lord Mansion was then serving as a home for senior ladies, and there were only a handful of bed and breakfasts in town.
Davis and Litchfield have since restored every corner of the 16-room Inn, filled it with cherished antiques, and earned it a reputation as one of the finest bed and breakfasts in the country including prestigious AAA four-diamond status.
Friendship is often mentioned at the Captain Lord Mansion.
