A golf course may impact wildlife by altering habitat, by increasing human
presence, by displacing individuals, by shifting movement patterns, by
altering interspecific competition and/or by contributing to indirect
or direct mortality.
Each species section is composed of five subsections: research and observations,
sensitivity to habitat alteration, sensitivity to human presence, the
golf course as a movement corridor and a conclusion.
There was only one quantitative study found that specifically addressed
the effects of golf courses on elk habitat use and their movement corridors.

The aim of this model Course Policy Document (CPD) is to provide
guidance to clubs in establishing their own policy document, that will
bring continuity and consistency to the management of the golf course.
Specific recommendations (for example cutting heights) need to be agreed
between the Course Manager/Head Greenkeeper (CM/HGK) and the policy making
body of the club and then set down in the policy document.
It is absolutely vital that all parties are clear on their roles and responsibilities.
The EGU recognises and supports this trend and accepts that the need for
a Greens Committee is questionable in a modern club structure.

An article in Asian Golf Review, entitled 'Being hit by a golf ball may
cause seizures', described how golf balls traveling up to 130 MPH can
cause epileptic seizures after impact with the head.
DO AS WE SAY NOT AS YOU DRINK.
Anyone caught doing so will be instantly disqualified from further play
and barred from any association with the rest of the event.
Anyone caught swinging higher than that is subject to a one drink penalty.
The shooter should not be swinging the club in a manner that would cause
serious injury, but keep in mind we are decended from apes---some of us
are even Canadian.

Description: Native grass meadow at this site consists of a
variety of warm season grasses, including switch grass and little blue
stem, and wild flowers (black-eyed susans, poppy's) planted on and around
the 50 ft buffer that separates the golf coarse from the residential lots.
The native grasses and wild flowers are generally tall and grow in cluster
or clumps, as such, they create privacy for individual lots and slow the
flow of stormwater flowing off individual properties.
Function: Establishing a meadow consisting of native warm-season grasses
is a best management practice since the overall environmental benefits
outweigh the value of mowed turf grass fields.
Along the roadways and downslope of the clubhouse parking lot are grass-lined
swales.
