OpsManualTOC
Historical Note: This manual was produced by the USGA Foundation
based on the experiences of running Summits since 2001.
The Summits are a unique opportunity for junior golf program directors
and coordinators, teaching professionals, courses and facilities and area
golf associations to come together to discuss their vision for junior
golf in a local community.
The USGA Foundation Grants Program supports golf programs across the country
serving the economically disadvantaged, individuals with disabilities,
and minorities, as well as the construction of facilities created to affordably
introduce the game to new audiences.
Beyond it's grants program the USGA partners with national organizations
to promote facility development, girls golf, and initiatives for individuals
with disabilities as well as promoting the professional development of
recent college graduates in the "Fellowship in Leadership in Service"
program.

TO BETTER SERVE THE MEMBERS AND TO BE LABOR COST EFFECTIVE FOR YOUR CLUB,
WE ARE REQUESTING THAT RESERVATIONS BE MADE IN THE DINING ROOM FOR LUNCH
AND DINNER.
A good grip is vital because you need to properly hold the tools of the
game.
Your golf club should be aimed at your target and your feet, hips and
shoulders should be on a parallel line to your target, as if you are standing
on railroad tracks.
Despite our efforts to discourage any of these recreational vehicles from
using the golf course during the Winter; they managed to gain access and
tear into several greens to various degrees.

Alternative Facility -- a golf complex that does not include
a traditional golf course, but includes at least one alternative course,
i.e. executive courses.
Over half of the golfers in the U.S. are considered core golfers; i.e.
golfers aged 18 and over that played eight or more rounds during 2002.
These generally correspond to winter and summer, although facilities differ
on cut-off dates.
Based on data collected from a 1996 survey of eight Scottsdale golf facilities,
the average annual revenue for a Scottsdale facility is $3,580,000, placing
the typical Scottsdale course in the top 25 percent of revenue generating
courses in the state of Arizona 3.

In the 2003 year book guidelines and examples will be included on how
to obtain a Course Rating for 9 holes and address other issues relating
to 9 hole handicaps, such as converting Par and Stableford scores to a
gross score in order to obtain a differential if the Par and AWCR are
not the same and whether the buffer zone is to be used.

condone waiving the Rules of Golf merely on the grounds of expediency.
