Those that survived and emigrated to America took their culture with them, including their Celtic tradition of Halloween.

Keep your home safe for visiting trick-or-treaters: remove anything a child could trip over such as garden hoses, toys, bikes and lawn decorations.

A costumed animal character from the aquarium will lead a short costume parade starting at 4:30 p.m. at the Kelp Forest exhibit.

Combines traditional music, illustrates folk tales, animation and arts & crafts with informational segments about the meaning and significance of these celebrations.

Children make lanterns out of pumpkins that look like a person's face and put them in front of their houses so that 'bad people' will go away.

Closely inspect all candy before allowing children to eat it.

Join the fun at Golden Eagle Park on the night of the FH High School Homecoming game.

For example, if you're studying bats, write the word bat at the center.

History shows that the main celebrations of Halloween were purely Druidical.

There's the fear that if children play dress up as witches, ghosts and other such fantasy characters of the "dark side" they will actually be seduced by evil.

Trick or Treat bags should not be too large; they can obscure vision or cause your child to trip.

We all love sandwiches so why not use a biscuit cutter to shape the bread into spooky cats and moons?

Small groups led by docents dressed in period costumes were provided with commentary on the history and architecture of the buildings.

This is a cumulative story started by a black cat trying to catch a little girl's toe one spooky Halloween night.
Remind children of the fiddle the girl played in the story.
Then play a variety of fiddle music for children to enjoy in the classroom.
Later, offer children a variety of household objects that can be used to imitate the sounds of various instruments (an egg beater, a tin pie plate and wooden spoon, pot lids, etc.) Let children experiment with making different kinds of music with these homemade instruments.
Read other cumulative poetry to children, such as: This is the House that Jack Built.

What did the Celts believe appeared on Halloween night?
What animal can a witch change into?
From which country did Halloween arrive in America?
What vegetable is a Jack-o-lantern made from?
Have you ever played a trick on someone?
Most people think of Halloween as an American tradition, but actually, it comes from Europe.
The Celts lived in Europe, mainly in France, Britain and Ireland.
Halloween was the last day of their year before the long winter.
So, on Halloween, they built big fires, they wore strange clothes, they played tricks on each other, and they made lots of noise.

" With all that to wait for, rarely has the old stock market adage to ' sell in May and go away' been more apposite" (The Economist, 1993, p. 26).
This means that unlike many other anomalies, this anomaly does not--- at least not yet--- seem to disappear or reverse itself after discovery, but continues to exist even though investors may have become aware of it.
9 Returns over the period May--October tend to be close to zero in many countries.
Low returns between May and October, high returns between November and April.
This would lead one to believe that the Sell in May effect has been present in the data for a very long time, although results tend to be less signi cant now than in the last 30 years.

The events are designed to provide a safe, supervised environment for residents of all ages.
Activities include costume contests, magic shows, prize giveaways, and candy provided by the City.
"In light of recent events, we want our parents and children to be able to enjoy a safe Halloween in a supervised setting," said Bellflower Mayor Ray Smith.
In addition to a magic show and game booths, each park will also present special "Spirit of Unity" costume contest awards to honor America and its local heroes such as firefighters, public safety officers, and medical rescue personnel.
"We're expecting about 500-600 people at each location, so the evening will be full of fun and excitement for the whole community," said Rich Pierce, Director of Parks & Recreation.

a 3D maze, vortex tunnel and House 2002 Fremont Blvd. the house on a non-scary tour.
General admission to the mission is $2.
Finally, "Haunted Maze" features a labyrinth of horrors which, while predictable enough, are still well worth the wait.
There are 17 Halloween attractions in all, with sideshows performing periodically.
An especially amusing show is Chef Gagme Whitherspoon's "Road kill Café," featuring cooking lessons and unattractively-titled dishes.
Another drawback is that the Halloween attractions are not marked on the map, which combined with the copious amounts of fog and the dark, makes it an odyssey to trek around to each attraction.

Halloween is a day for having fun, playing games, and dressing up in imaginative costumes.
Together, Rick and his father make some last minute adjustments to the costume to make sure it is safe.
First, Rick's father points out that the costume is fire retardant, meaning it won't catch fire if exposed to flame.
Secondly, the costume is light in color so that it can be seen easily in the dark.
After trick-or-treating, all treats should be carefully inspected by an adult and any candy found out of its original wrapped or homemade items from strangers should be thrown away.
