Legendary jazz bass player Ray Brown passed away July 2. Jazz Festival, performing at 17 of the last 18 festivals. He also was a member of the Lionel Hampton Center National Committee. In addition to presenting concerts, the jazz artists will conduct workshops for Lionel Hampton School of Music students and present clinics for the public. A jazz concert also is planned for April as part of UI Moms' Weekend. Artists for the spring concert have not been announced.
