When 5.1 channel surround sound music mixes first made their way onto the scene, there were several bands that came to mind that I felt could truly benefit from the extra discreet channels.

The aim is for the visiting artists to observe and learn the techniques demonstrated by the SOFA team in presenting this workshop format during a short rehearsal period then shadow the SOFA team members over the course of 5 consecutive schools workshops.
Towards the end of the working week, depending upon their experience and confidence, the visiting artists should be able to take the lead -- working directly with the pupils -- on certain aspects of the workshop so that they have the opportunity to put their observations into practice.
The SOFA team which presents the workshop performance programme comprises 4 individuals: 3 drama specialists and 1 musician.
