Getting Rid of the Smoke Screen, the report of a successful Quit Smoking program for women, will be released by IAHS CEO Dr Tony Sherbon on Tuesday, 5th February at 10.30am at Corrimal Community Centre.
The report is the result of a detailed evaluation of a number of womenonly Quit Smoking programs run at the Bulli Community Health Centre which resulted in better-than-average quit rates.
We were curious to see if this success rate had been maintained long term so in 2001 a survey of all participants in the program was conducted.
Ninety percent of the women made healthy lifestyle changes as a result of attending the program.
In comparison, gum and patches cost $32 per week on average.
