Pat Parelli comes out of a group of loosely associated horseman who term their type of horsemanship "Natural Horsemanship."
These horsemen believe that the key to working with horses is developing communication and understanding between horse and human.
You have to spend time teaching your horse the cue to pick up and hold their feet up for you.
You video tape your performance on the tasks and mail Parelli Natural Horsemanship (P.N.H.) the video.
You communicate with your horse on a 22 foot rope.
It is also not uncommon to see level two and three horsemen riding with nothing on the horse's head.
