The John Ball Zoological Garden has a long history of producing fruit. You support the Wildlife Conservation Grants when you adopt Zoo animals in our Footsteps to the Future Program or donate directly for the granting program. Thank you for your support in the past and I hope that this year's report encourages your continued participation. In 1985, the Zoo Society created the John Ball Zoo Society Wildlife Conservation fund with assistance from Mr. Fables, Inc. Since its creation, the fund has assisted conservation, education, and captive wildlife management programs internationally. Whatever it is, from aesthetic considerations to remarkable adaptations, turtles seem to have "something" that captures our imaginations. J084 1. Within one month of the date of the licence and one month of the date of renewal of the policy, where applicable, a copy of the zoo's current public liability insurance policy, and of subsequent renewals thereof, to be sent to the licensing authority. 3. The licensing authority to be notified in writing at least one month in advance of the proposed addition of any animal listed in the Schedule, to the Dangerous Wild Animals Act 1976, as currently amended, which is formed a taxonomic order not previously kept in the zoo. WZCS Immersion exhibits involve zoo visitors in the environmental circumstances of the animals, and such experiences are conducive to favourable reception by visitors of strong conservation messages. The sheer mass visitation to zoos makes them excellent institutions to increase public awareness of the irreplaceable values of natur e. Education is therefore an essential conservation task of zoos. Apart from maintaining animal collections as a basis for zoo education and re s e a rch, zoos can also directly contribute to preventing of extinction of endangered species. This is accomplished by propagation of populations of such species ex situ (off site---away from their original natural habitat). ZooPeople During 12 years of trading, Zoo has acquired enormous expertise across the whole range of field marketing activities and has undertaken small and large campaigns for many blue chip companies. Business Need and GoldMine Solution: Zoo believes that each type of marketing activity requires different skills and, therefore, a different type of "animal" is needed for each type of activity. Fay Branch believes that it would now be "impossible to run the business without GoldMine" and has calculated that overall, the deployment of the solution has saved Zoo over £50,000. Choosing Prior Analytics as their GoldMine Solutions Provider has also proved an excellent choice as "Prior have both the business expertise and technical resource to support Zoo's changing requirements on an on-going basis". zoo_6-8_quiz http://www.eduplace.com/monthlytheme/april/pdf/zoo_6-8_quiz.pdf Then circle the letter next to the place where that animal lives when not in a zoo or aquarium. the Mediterranean Sea, off southern Europe b. twilights_bandlist_2004 Jazz Latin Date Saturday 7 February Sunday 8 February Friday 13 February as of 20/10/03 Please note artist line-up may be subject to change. zoo After a leisurely stroll through the zoo on this warm sunny January day, I marvel at the number of visitors we have during this rather slow month. Some come for exercise, some just to be with other people, but most come to see animals that they would not ordinarily see unless they traveled to some distant place. These words of wisdom by African ecologist Baba Dioum serve to inspire and guide the zoo's education division in our ongoing mission to provide quality education experiences on wildlife and conservation for the local community and beyond. The maintenance shop and commissary addition was completed this past year. Staff installed an array of dripline south of the zoo and planted 2000 willow trees that will, in the years to come, be pruned for browse for the animals. 20C http://www.gcrta.org/PDFs/summer2003/20C.pdf RTA operates holiday service on the following days: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Nicor Solutions, an affiliate of Nicor Gas, worked with Charles Equipment, the distributor in the Chicago area for Waukesha Engine Division to supply a system based on two Waukesha VHP7100GL Enginator ® units and one 1,600 kW diesel emergency generator. The generator controls and station switchgear were furnished by Zenith Controls. Should the Zoo experience a utility power failure while the Enginator® units are operating in parallel with the utility, the Zenith switchgear will operate the proper breakers and transfer switches to keep the Enginator® units on the Zoo's power grid, while isolating the utility from the grid. | ||
